I've been having a bit of a rough time lately. I have been trying to think positive and get myself through this bit of funk but nothing seems to be working. I've decided to try using a method from one of my favorite movies, Sound of Music, when Maria is telling the children to start thinking of their favorite things and it will help them to not be scared of the storm. So, since I am a compulsive list maker I've decided to make a list of all of my favorite things. Number one is number one for a reason but the rest don't have any particular order or priority.
1. seeing my girls smile and laugh
2. red shoes and purses of all colors
3. books & bookstores - I love going to bookstores and browsing through all the books. I think I get this from my mom. :)
4. vintage clothes and jewelry
5. summer thunderstorms - these last couple we have had have been fantastic
6. going for ride - Provo Canyon is one of my favorites and I'm so lucky because I grew up so close to it
7. grabbing lunch with a friend - there's just something about good food and good conversation
8. fabric - I don't really know how to sew all that much and lack a sewing machine right now but I want to learn more and I love seeing all the pretty fabric
9. Fall - I love this season. I'm just drawn to it naturally, could be because I am born in the fall but there's just something about it that makes me happy.
10. Halloween and Christmas - I have already ordered the girls Halloween costumes. :) So excited to see them all dressed up.
11. frozen yogurt - plain tart with berries. yummy.
12. puppies - well really any animal but I love dogs.
13. snowcones - I anxiously await the coming of Memorial Day because it's the opening of the swimming pools and snowcone shacks. :) I also have my select few that I will frequent...I'm kinda picky about them. Seems strange that one could be picky about shaved ice with flavored syrup but I am.
So, those are just a few things. Apparently I have a lot more favorite things that I thought a did. Life is all about the simple little things. Hopefully things will be looking up.
